Scholarships and grants

Any overseas student admitted to studies starting from 01.10.2019 and meeting the conditions set out in the Regulations on Benefits for Students of the University of Zielona Góra may apply for a social grant, a grant for the disabled, Rector's scholarship, and an allowance.

The Regulations also contain provisions on financial support for foreigners who continue studies started before the 2019/2020 academic year.

  • The social grant may be awarded to a student who is in a difficult financial situation, i.e. whose monthly income per person in the family does not exceed the amount set annually by the Rector in consultation with the UZG Student Parliament. In particularly justified cases, a student may receive the social grant in an increased amount, provided they meet the conditions necessary to receive a social grant.
  • The grant for people with disabilities may be awarded to a student with a certificate of disability, a certificate of the degree of disability or a certificate referred to in Art. 5 and Art. 62 of the Act of August 27th, 1997 on the Vocational and Social Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled People.
  • The aid may be granted to students who find themselves in a temporary difficult life situation.
  • The Rector's scholarship may be awarded to a student who has achieved outstanding educational results, scientific or artistic achievements, or sports achievements in a competition at least at the national level for the last completed year of study. A student may apply for this scholarship after completing the first year and the consecutive years of study or after starting second-cycle studies within one year of completing their first-cycle studies.

To apply for the scholarship, a student must fill in the electronic application available on their StudNet student account, and then submit the printed and signed application along with a complete set of required attachments to the Student Affairs Department in person or via the Polish Post within the deadlines specified in the Regulations.

The detailed rules for applying for the social grant (including the social grant in an increased amount), the grant for the disabled, the rector's scholarship and the allowance are set out in the Regulations on Benefits for Students of the University of Zielona Góra. Additional information is available from the UZG Student Affairs Department.
