Foreign students aged under 30 or foreign doctoral students aged under 35 who have been granted a permanent residence permit, are long-term residents of the European Union, refugees or holders of Karta Polaka (Eng.: the Pole's Card) may apply for a student loan.

An application for the loan may also be submitted by a person applying for studies, then the loan will be paid out after obtaining student status. The student loan may be applied for all year round. The loan decision should be made within 30 days.
